August 13, 2024: The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has started the Sasta Ghar accommodation Scheme, which provides inexpensive accommodation for lower-income groups (LIG) and economically weaker sections (EWS). This project will offer around 34,000 flats for the EWS and LIG groups, with prices starting at around Rs 11.5 lakh.

DDA units under the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme will be located in several parts of Delhi, including Ramgarh Colony, Siraspur, Loknayakpuram, Rohini, and Narela. A total of 34,177 flats will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis, with prices starting at roughly Rs 11.5 lakh.

 

The DDA decided to launch three housing plans, including the Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme, at a critical meeting on August 6, 2024, led by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena.

 

The DDA’s General Housing Scheme 2024 offers flats in a variety of categories, including HIG, MIG, LIG, and EWS. These units will be located around Delhi, including Jasola, Loknayakpuram, and Narela. A total of 5400 home units would be available at 2023 rates beginning at roughly Rs 29 lakh. The DDA is also selling approximately 173 premium units in Dwarka as part of a wider program totaling 40,000 flats.

 

According to officials, 750 persons registered for the DDA Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme 2024 on the first day of registration, August 22, 2024, as reported in the media.

Who can apply for the DDA’s Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme?

  • The scheme is open to all Indian citizens.
  • The applicant’s minimum age should be 18 years on the last day of submitting the application.
  • The applicants should meet the income requirements. The family income of EWS applicants should be up to Rs 10 lakh per year. Other than EWS, no income condition applies.
  • There are no restrictions on owning land or property in Delhi.

Allocation of units, loan, and financial support

The allotment of flats under the Sasta Ghar Scheme will be made on a cash down basis only, with the exception of applicants belonging to the PwD [Persons with Disability (Divyangjan)] category, who will have the option of making payment either on a cash down basis or in Equated Monthly Instalments (EMIs) on terms and conditions that apply to them. The interest rate levied is simple interest at 10% per month on a declining balance.

Are combined applications accepted under the Sasta Ghar Scheme?

Joint applications are permitted under the plan. If the applicant falls under the Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) category, he or she must be in the appropriate reserved category, and the joint applicant/co-applicant must be a member of the applicant’s family.

 

 

How do I apply for the DDA Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme?

The DDA made the application procedure simple and clear. Those interested in the DDA Sasta Ghar Housing Scheme can apply through the DDA’s official website by following the steps listed below:

 

  • Visit the portals www.dda.gov.in and https://eservices.dda.org.in.
  • Register on the platform by creating login credentials with your PAN and other details.
  • Log into the website with the credentials.
  • To register for the scheme, pay a non-refundable registration cost of Rs 2,500 (including GST).

 

According to the DDA, candidates who have already enrolled in FCFS Phase IV or Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023 (FCFS) are not need to register again. Those who are already registered in FCFS Phase IV or Diwali Special Housing Scheme 2023 (FCFS), as well as new candidates who have successfully registered for this FCFS scheme, can book the available units.
